The 4th R.N. Raikar International Memorial Conference and ICACI Annual Celebrations were successfully held, bringing together industry experts, academicians, and professionals from around the globe. This landmark event served as a unique platform for knowledge sharing, technical advancement, and professional networking in the fields of concrete technology, structural engineering, and sustainable construction practices.

Day 1: Inaugural Session & Technical Deliberations

The conference began with an inspiring inaugural session featuring distinguished speakers and industry stalwarts. The program included the lighting of the ceremonial lamp and garlanding of the late Shri R.N. Raikar’s photograph. Mr. Sourabh Manjrekar, President of ICACI, delivered the welcome address and outlined the role of ICACI in advancing concrete technology. Eminent personalities, including Dr. Alejandro Duran-Herrera, Dr. Surendra Manjrekar, Mr. Michael Paul, and Dr. Bhushan Gagrani, graced the stage with impactful addresses on the significance of sustainable construction and collaborative innovations in concrete technology. This was followed by the release of the conference document and a vote of thanks by Dr. Yogini Deshpande, Hon. Secretary, ICACI.

The Plenary Session later in the evening saw engaging keynote addresses by renowned speakers, including Mr. Michael Paul, Dr. Satyen Ghosh, Prof. Abhijit Mukherjee, and Dr. Ahmad Abdelrazaq, presenting cutting-edge research and technological advancements in topics ranging from building codes to megatall structures.

Day 2: Technical Presentations & Industry Panels

Day two offered a rich blend of technical sessions and partner presentations. Parallel sessions covered diverse themes such as Low Carbon Cements and Concrete, innovative materials, and emerging design practices. Notable talks included Prof. PAM Basheer’s address on immobilization and CO2 sequestration potentials of cementitious systems, and Dr. Surendra Manjrekar’s insights on carbon footprint reduction in dams and stadiums. Interactive panel discussions and partner presentations provided a platform for industry players like UltraTech Cement Limited, Gubbi Civil Engineers, and Sanrachana Structural Strengthening to showcase innovative solutions.

Day 3: Thematic Sessions and Panel Discussions,

The final day hosted specialized sessions and thematic discussions. Sessions on durability, fire-resistant concrete structures, GFRP and tall buildings provided a deeper understanding of future trends in construction technology. Distinguished speakers such as Dr. V.K.R. Kodur and Dr. Nemkumar Banthia enriched the discussions with their expertise on fire performance strategies and nano-material advancements in UHPC, respectively.
