- AWARDS BESTOWED UPON CHAPTER MEMBERS FOR THEIR EXCELLENT SERVICES BY ACI INTERNATIONAL
ACI HONORARY MEMBERS:
First elected in 1926, an Honorary Member shall be a person of eminence in the field of the Institute’s Interest or one who has performed extraordinary meritorious service to the Institute. Honorary Membership is the highest Honour bestowed by ACI, USA on any individual.

LATE MR. R. N. RAIKAR :
- R. N. Raikar, Past President, India Chapter of ACI was been elected as the “Honorary Member” of the American Concrete Institute.
- The Citation Message reads: “In recognition of your countless years of service to ACI and its India Chapter, for your unlimited enthusiasm to ensure Quality Concrete; and your faithful labours in support of International co-operation“
- It is a moment of immense pride and celebration for India Chapter of ACI and Concrete Fraternity. This unique honour was conferred on him at the Opening Session and Award Programme, on Sunday March 14, 2004 at ACI Centennial Convention at Washington D.C., U.S.A.
- Congratulatory message on this occasion from the Guru of Concrete, Dr. Adam Neville (C.B.E) : “I would like to send you my warmest congratulations on the highest honour that ACI can bestow. I look forward to congratulating you in person.
- Award in recognition of sustained and outstanding contribution to concrete technology in March 1994
Dr. S. K. MANJREKAR :
- Dr. Surendra Manjrekar has been bestowed with the highest honour of the world by American Concrete Institute (ACI) of ‘Honorary Member’.
- He is the Only Living Indian to be the recipient of the same. He is also the only person to get this recognition from Southeast Asia, Gulf and African countries.
- President of ACI Khaled Awad bestowed this honor on Dr. Manjrekar in Salt lake City, Utah on 25th March 2018, ACI Convention.
- The Institute’s highest honor recognizes person ‘of eminence in the field of the Institute’s interest, or one who has performed extraordinary meritorious service to the Institute.’ Only 249 have been elected to this position since 1904.
YOUNG ENGINEERS AWARDS FOR PROFESSIONAL ACHIEVEMENTS:
ACI is offering this award to young engineers for the following contribution:
- To advancing the quality of concrete construction through technology transfer, and for the mentoring of younger colleagues and students.
- To the education of students in the behaviour of concrete, and for the organisation of student activities.
- To concrete technology, including technical publications, convention presentations, and service on ACI technical committees.
- Service on ACI’s educational committees and contributions in advancing the goals and objectives of the Institute at the local national levels.

CHAPTER ACTIVITIES AWARDS:
The ACI Board of Direction has established the ACI Chapter Activities Award to recognize individuals for their outstanding service to ACI chapters. Chapters recommend the nominees using the online Nomination Form provided for this purpose. The individual proposed should have made an outstanding contribution in leadership and administration, or in organizing or conducting chapter activities. All nominations should include the name of the individual, their position in the chapter, the reason the individual should be selected, and a possible citation.

ACI FELLOWSHIP AWARD:
Individuals were first elected to be an ACI Fellow of the Institute in 1973. The Bylaws provide that Fellows are nominated by a Fellows Nomination Committee and elected by the Board of Direction. Potential candidates may be presented to the Fellows Nomination Committee for its consideration by a member of the Committee, by a local chapter, by the International Advisory Committee, or by petition by five current ACI Members. At the time of nomination, a Fellow shall have been a Member of the Institute, or a representative of an Organizational or Sustaining Member of the Institute, for at least fifteen years, including three of the last five years. A Fellow shall have made outstanding contributions to the production or use of concrete materials, products, and structures in the areas of education, research, development, design, construction, or management. In addition, a Fellow shall have made significant contributions to ACI through committees and/or local chapters. A Fellow shall retain that membership rank as long as membership in the Institute is maintained or until elected an Honorary Member. Nominations for deceased individuals will not be considered. Staff members will no longer be considered.
