India Chapter of ACI launched and successfully conducted the “Concrete Cube Test” and Essay” Competitions” for the Year 2023 and 2024 for students of Civil Engineering Colleges/Institutes with the support of Board of Direction of India Chapter of ACI and sustained efforts of active Member of Board of Direction, Mr. Satish C Dhupelia, the Principal Coordinator for Activities of Students’ Chapters of India Chapter of ACI, and also as Principal Convener for both these Students’ Competitions, and also with active support of, and promoted by various Mentors of ALL the “IC-ACI STUDENTS’ CHAPTERS in India. These years also ICACI has received very good response from students from various Civil Engineering Colleges all over India.

(A) Cube Test Competition:

This Cube Testing Competition, aims at providing an opportunity to  Students of Civil Engineering, and to acclimatize themselves, for   (i) Design the Concrete Mix, (2), make the Concrete with their own Hands, (3) Cast the Test Cubes, (4) Cure them for 28 Days of Curing/Caring,(5) transporting, and (6) witnessing Actual Testing of Cubes, so prepared by them.

A) 2023 Cube Test Competition:

It was organised from 1st December 2023 to 15th January 2024 under following 25 Nodal Centers of Student Chapter of ICACI. The cube test competitions result received from total of 10 Nodal Centres.

B) 2024 Cube Test Competition:

It was organised from 15th January 2025 to 28th February 2025 under following 26 Nodal Centers of Student Chapter of ICACI. The cube test competitions result received from 09 Nodal Centres.

The cash prizes were presented to 142 winners from 52 teams from above 19 nodal centres (List attached).

• 1st Place winner: Rs.10000/-
• 2nd Place winner: Rs.7000/-
• 3rd Place winner: Rs.3000/-

(2) Essay Competition:

Essay Competition was organised for the students from Civil Engineering Colleges as follows:

A) 2023 Essay Competition

It was held on 26th December 2023 and the topic of competition was “Important Aspects for Durability of Reinforced Concrete Construction”. Total 53 students submitted their essay for this competition.

B) 2024 Essay Competition

It was held on 26th  November 2024 and the topic of competition was “Important Aspects for Durability of Structural Audit of Civil Engineering Structures: An Overview. Total 33 students have been submitted their essay for this competition.

The essays have been scrutinised by dignitaries and national level 3 students are selected as top 3 winners and following cash prizes were handed over for this Competition (List attached).

• 1st Place winner: Rs.10000/-
• 2nd Place winner: Rs.7000/-
• 3rd Place winner: Rs.3000/-

The certificates will be presented to the winners and participants with the proper decorum in one of the upcoming events of India Chapter of ACI. The wide publicity was given to this competition through the Chapter’s Journal and other technical journal, Chapter Website, and social media.

IC-ACI Board of Direction congratulated the winners of the above competitions and wishes them all the best for their future career.
