He has been with Sika India since 2011 at various position to support TM – Refurbishment products for Concrete Repair, Grouting & Fixing, Structural Strengthening with CFRP and Protective Coatings. He has been instrumental in various repair & rehabilitation projects of Bridges, Flyover, Buildings, Industrial Structures like Cooling Towers & Chimney etc. He has been actively involved in renewal energy projects and has successfully done Wind Tower Grouting projects.
Prior to Sika, he has been associated with an Austrian company TYROLIT and has contributed to Structural retrofitting & controlled dismantling using new generation technologies like Diamond Saws with Hydraulic machines like Wall Saw & Wire Saw. With his 23 years of overall experience, he has worked for more than 18 years in Concrete Repair & Rehabilitation Industry.

Dr. Chetan S Patil is presently working as Assistant Professor, Sanjay Ghodawat University, Kolhapur. Chetan S. Patil completed ME in Structural Engineering from Shivaji University, Kolhapur and subsequently Ph.D. in faculty of Civil Engineering from Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi, Karnataka and. He is having more than 15 years of experience in educational field. He has published more than 15 publications in International and National Journals in field of Concrete Technology and Structural Dynamics. He has also attended 15 International and National workshop and has worked as Organizing Secretory of various workshops.
He has delivered technical session on Repair and Rehabilitation of Concrete Structures, Advanced Concrete Technology, NDT, Outcome Based Education etc. He is member of ACI, USA (from 2016), life Member, ISTE, New Delhi, Member of IEI, India. He has worked as Co-opted Director of India Chapter of ACI, Mumbai from June 2018 to June 2019.
He has been awarded for mentoring student for the Concrete Cube Test Competition by India Chapter of ACI, Mumbai. Under his leadership, ISTE Student Chapter of Sanjay Ghodawat Institute received Best ISTE Chapter Award in 2012 by ISTE, New Delhi.

Mr. Amit Barde joined India’s leading construction company M/s Larsen & Toubro Ltd as a part of the “Precast Initiative” of the Residential Buildings SBG in 2012 with over a decade of Precast Construction experience in the United States with a leading precast concrete manufacturer. He is currently heading the Precast Initiative for Buildings & Factories IC and is actively involved in developing and promoting Precast Technology adoption in the Residential and Commercial Buildings Sector.
Mr. Amit is known for his expertise in a variety of residential, commercial and industrial precast concrete buildings. He has designed and managed several precast concrete projects such as data centers, office buildings, schools, warehouses, industrial plants, stadiums and parking structures. Currently, he is actively involved in the construction of the CIDCO PMAY Housing Project, Navi Mumbai, the largest order of the Residential Building group.
With penchant for modern construction technologies, Mr. Amit has spent extensive time in exploring state-of-the art construction technologies for rapid and cost-effective construction during his stint in India that brings a unique mix of overseas precast construction expertise complimented with a thorough understanding of Indian Construction Industry and current requirements and capabilities.
Mr. Amit graduated with honors from Government College of Engineering, Pune and later pursued higher studies at the prestigious Purdue University, USA to complete MS in Civil Engineering. Abhishek Salkar is the currently a Senior Project Engineer at Kuvelkar Salkar Associates (KSA), an engineering design consultancy firm established in 1994 with operations all over India and outside India in countries like Ivory Coast, Indonesia, Bangladesh and Zambia.
Abhishek completed his B.Tech in Civil Engineering from NITK Surathkal in 2015, and obtained his Master’s Degree in Structural Engineering from UC Berkeley in 2016. He worked at Liftech Consultants as a Project Engineer in California, USA before joining his father, Dr. Raghuvir Salkar at KSA.

Dr. Rampradheep G.S. is working as an Associate Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at Kongu Engineering College, Perundurai, Erode, Tamil Nadu, India.
He has completed his graduation in Civil Engineering from Kongu Engineering College in the year April 2008 and completed his Masters in Structural Engineering from Bannari Amman Institute of Technology on May 2010. He was awarded two Gold Medals for his outstanding performance in Structural Engineering. He did his Ph.D in the field of Internal Curing Concrete under the Anna University, Chennai and completed successfully in the year May 2017. He has published more than 20 papers in reputed conferences and 07 papers in a reputed International journal.
He is the recipient of various awards includes ACI International Travel Stipend, ACI Chapter activities award, Best mentor award, best paper award, IEI Young Engineer Award (Erode Chapter), Dr.APJ Abdul Kalam Award, IEEE Consumer Society etc., from the Government agencies and reputed organisations. Dr. Yogini Deshpande holds a PhD in Civil Engineering from Purdue University. She holds a Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering and a Master’s Degree in Geotechnical Engineering from Mumbai University.
Prior to pursuing a PhD she worked as a Research Fellow at the Atomic Energy Regulatory Board, Department of Defense, India. Today she is a well-known consultant, practicing engineer and educator in the field of construction and infrastructure engineering. She has extensive research and application experience in development of high performance concretes by waste utilization, recycling of concrete and development of smart materials. She has taught at Michigan Technological University and University of Alabama in USA. She has published over 40 research papers and given over 100 talks in many International Conferences in the field of Civil Engineering. Currently she heads Renuka Consultants a unique end-to-end infrastructure assessment and consulting company that provides research, engineering testing and consulting solutions in the field of construction.
Under her leadership the company has grown rapidly technically and received various accreditations including the prestigious NABL accreditation for testing laboratories. She has been involved in many prestigious projects such as nuclear power plants, Mumbai Trans-Harbour Link, Thane Creek Bridge-3, Chattrapati Shivaji Statue etc.

Dr. Vishal Ramesh Thombare is currently Executive Engineer Roads in Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM). He has completed his PhD from Indian Institute of Technology (I.I.T) Bombay. Before joining MCGM he worked with Indian Rayon and Industries Ltd cement Division now Ultra-Tech Cement for about four years. During his tenure in cement division he worked on Shoppee concept in cement industry and developed various Mixes for High Performance Concrete. He joined Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM) in the year 1997. He has worked in Quality Control, Planning and Research department (Hydraulic Engineer’s Department) for about eight years where he played a key role in making Master Plan for Mumbai City for next 25 years. Looking to his expertise in Cement Concrete he was transfer to Road department. He has about 26 years of experience in Civil Engineering field. He is Chartered Engineer from Institution of Engineers.
Dr. Vishal R.Thombare had introduced many mineral and chemical admixtures in Concrete which is used in various MCGM projects. Dr.Vishal R.Thombare was the instrument behind implementing Ultra-Thin White Topping in Mumbai, Thane, Bangalore, Chennai and different parts of our Country. He is the first Engineer in India to use M60 grade of Concrete in UTWT and TWT. He worked for over 12 years Internationally in the field of and Building Chemicals (across the USA, Europe, Brazil, Middle East and India). He currently works and trains in Concrete, Waterproofing, Repair and Rehabilitation, Public Relations, Marketing Strategies, Technical Selling and is accomplished in Laboratory Setups, Raw Material Sourcing and Development of Construction Chemicals. He developed many innovative materials and non-destructive test methods for project applications.

One of the new generation leaders in IC-ACI Ishita Manjrekar works at Sunanda Speciality Coatings Pvt. Ltd. Since 2010 and oversees Sunanda’s R&D, with a specific focus on developing and marketing Sunanda’s line of sustainable construction chemicals. In this role, Ishita draws on 4 years of rich experience in sustainability at Primary Global Research in San Francisco and New York. While at Primary Global Research Ishita led the “Cleantech and Green Technologies” business unit. She has been invited to feature on Bloomberg TV as well as Bloomberg Radio numerous times as a subject matter expert on sustainability and green technologies. Prof. Tiwari is Vice President – R&D and Head – Concrete Research at Ultra Tech Cement Ltd. He is past Vice President of the ICI. He has worked with ACC – RCD, a premier research and Consultancy Centre in the country. A postgraduate Civil Engineer, he has over 30 years of experience in the field of Concrete Technology and Construction. His experience encompasses construction, teaching, research, consultancy and product developments for concrete industry. He has guided and examined over 20 postgraduate research dissertations in the field of concrete and construction technology. He has set-up modern academic and industrials laboratories at various institutions. He has been in the field of consultancy related to concrete technology, structural diagnosis and repair. He has authored about 66 research papers in various national and international conferences & journals.
During his tenure as Vice President (North), ICI he was instrumental in starting the Bhopal and Jaipur Centre and activating other dormant centres. He was also instrumental in starting about 10 student chapters in the northern region. He has been invited and chaired many sessions in national international conference and delivered invited talks at various forums.

He was in charge of approvals and permissions of building plans as per D. C. Regulation. From 2008 to 2011, he was on deputation to Govt. of Maharashtra and worked in Slum Redevelopment Authority (SRA) and Dharavi Redevelopment Project (DRP).
He has held the important responsibilities in the development of Mumbai city in the capacity of Chief Engineer (Development Plan), City Engineer of Mumbai Municipal Corporation, and Deputy Municipal Commissioner (Engineering). Mr. Samir Surlaker is a Civil & Structural Engineer from VJTI having 35 years of National and International experience in Construction Chemicals, Rehabilitation Concrete, and Injection Systems etc. from Europe, Middle East, Asia Pacific and India. He is the Managing Director of MC-Bauchemie (India) Pvt. Ltd., a joint venture with MC-Bauchemie, Germany.
He specializes in R&D in Cement-Concrete Technology especially for admixtures and compatibility. He has delivered seminars and is a speaker for many professional bodies like IEI, ACI, ICI, MES, ISRO, IRICEN, etc. in the fields of Construction Chemicals, repairs, waterproofing, concrete technology, etc. He has authored over 100 articles, papers and training notes for national and international Engineering Journals in the field of Construction Chemicals. Dr. S. K. Manjrekar is Chairman and Managing Director of M/s. Sunanda Specialty Coatings Pvt. Ltd. Mumbai, manufacturers of construction chemicals and offering consultancy services in related fields for its use for last three decades. He obtained hi Ph.D. in 1977 from University of Bombay. He is a fellow Of the ACI – Parent Body. He is fellow of several other institutes like ICI, CECRI, and Institution of Chemists, etc. He has been conferred with the “CHAPTER ACTIVITIES AWARD” in 2003 in Vancouver Canada, for his dedicated service to the ACI India Chapter.
He is working on several technical and admin committees of ACI as a voting member as under : 1) Committee 364 (for Repairs And Rehabilitation), 2) Sub Committee On International Certification 3) International Partners/Publications Committee 4) International Committee (IC) 5) Chapter Activities Committee 2000-2003. One of our senior-most supporters and pillars, Mr. L. D. Shah is a doyen of the Construction Industry and needs no introduction. He has been professionally active since 1969 across a multitude of fields relating to construction and has been an active member of IC-ACI for the last few decades. Apart from consultancy from his practice at L. D. Shah and Co., he is also actively involved in training and teaching, sharing his experience with the next generation of engineers. He has held many posts with IC-ACI and is currently a Director with us.
Our past president, Mohan A. Jacob received his B. E. In Civil Engineering from College of Engineering, Pune in 1962 and his post-graduate degree in Soil Mechanics & Foundation Engineering in 1964. He also received a diploma in Specialized Building Construction from ACTIM, Paris, France in 1974.
He has worked in various capacities for 36 years in the C. P. W. D. on many buildings and bridge projects all over India and also in Nepal. He retired as ADDITIONAL DIRECTOR GENERAL of Works, Western Region C. P.W. D. Mumbai in June 2001.
Presently he is working as a Consultant for corporate firms and also as Arbitrator for the last 10 years, including being involved as a Consultant for a major construction project of a large public sector Bank at Bandra-Kurla Complex, Mumbai. He is also active in many professional and technical institutions like The Institution of Engineers (India), ACI, ICI, IIBE, ICA, etc.
Mr. Jacob has been actively involved in the activities of the IC-ACI for over 2 decades and has served the in various capacities. For his consistently outstanding devotion and Involvement in the ACI India Chapter, he was awarded the prestigious International Chapter Activities Award by ACI, USA on 26th March 2006, during the ACI Convention at Charlotte, North Carolina, USA.
Prof. Vinod B. Vanvari, is Graduate of Civil Engineering from M. I. T. Pune, 1988 and Postgraduate of Civil Engineering – Engineering Construction & Management from V.J.T.I., Mumbai 1994. He is currently the Head of Civil Engineering department at Shri Vile Parle Kelavani Mandal’s Shri Bhagubhai Mafatlal Polytechnic (SBMP) for over a decade and is dedicated to teaching for the last 25 years. His areas of expertise are construction management, project management, contract administration, construction safety, concrete technology and building repairs and redevelopment. His areas of operation are teaching, training, research and consultancy. He is a member of many professional associations such as IEI, ASCE, ACI-USA, ICI, ISTE, and Association of Structural Rehabilitation.
Prof. Vanvari has actively contributed to programmes related to technical training of engineers, young professionals and professional development courses. For SBMP he supervises the students’ in plant training and the Continuing Education Programme on Construction Site Management. He is the Course Director, Construction Supervisors Training course conducted by IC-ACI.
Prof. Vinod Vanvari besides having presented over 12 technical papers in national and internal conferences has co-authored five modules for working professionals under CEP scheme of AICTE. He was instrumental in evolving the curriculum for Building Maintenance Repairs & Services, Project Management and Transportation Engineering at Polytechnic. Prof. Vanvari was Honoured Professional by Mumbai Centre of Builder’s Association of India, in 2006, for taking initiative in conducting orientation programme for professional development of fresh Civil Engineers. Chetan Raikar is a Chairman & Managing Director of Structwel Designers & Consultants Pvt. Ltd, an engineering consultancy of 50 years of glorious standing; apart from being on the panel of many international and national forums and institutions.
Chetan is a professional Structural Engineer with a Bachelor degree in B.E. Civil from Sardar Patel University, Gujarat and Master degree of Science in Conservation of Heritage structure from Herriot – Watt University, Edinburgh, UK.
